Please read this Privacy Policy as it pertains to how we (Oben, Inc.) generally collect, use, and share information about you when you access or use our Services, which are our websites, mobile applications, and other online products and services that link to this Privacy Policy. Should you have any issue with this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use our Services.

When you access or use our Services, we may collect information about you as described below.

2. Information You Choose To Give Us

When you interact with our Services, we collect the information that you choose to share with us, including, without limitation, account information, information you enter, edits you make and other information transmitted through use of our Services. For example, most of our Services require you to set up an account; as such, we collect a few important details about you, such as: an email address, a password, and your gender. When you record your voice, we collect such voice input, recording, related activity and the choices you make in the Services. We also allow you to create an avatar, and in doing so, we collect the selfie images, related activity and the choices you make in using the Services. And when you contact customer support or communicate with us in any other way, all such information is collected by us as well. Information We Get When You Use Our Services

When you use our Services, we collect information about which of our Services you’ve used and how you’ve used them. Here’s a non-exhaustive list of the types of information we collect when you use our Services:

  • Usage Information – We collect information about how you interact with our Services. For example, we may collect information about the content you edit and share and the features you access.
  • Device Information – We collect information about the device you use to access or use our Services, such as the hardware model, operating system version, unique application identifiers, unique device identifiers, browser type, and language preference.
  • Recorder and Voice – Some of our Services require us to collect voice information Voice information is provided voluntarily and we’ll access your recorder and audio files only with your consent.
  • Camera and Photos – Some of our Services require us to collect images and other information from your device’s camera and photos. Images are provided voluntarily by You and We will access your camera and photos only with your consent.
  • Information Collected by Cookies and Other Technologies – Like most online services and applications, we may use cookies and other technologies, such as web beacons, web storage, and unique advertising identifiers, to collect information.
  • Log Data – We also collect log information when you use our website, including: details about how you’ve used our Services, device information, access times, pages viewed, IP addresses and identifiers associated with cookies or other technologies that may uniquely identify your device or browser.

We may also obtain information about you from other sources and combine that with information we collect directly. For example, we may collect information about you when you post content to our pages or feeds on third-party social media sites or if you use credentials from a third-party site or services to create an account or log into our Services. We may also obtain information from our parent, subsidiary and affiliate companies, or any other third-party sources, and combine that with the information we collect through our Services.

We may also store some information locally on your device (i.e., storage of information as local cache for faster access and viewing of content).

Certain information may be shared with other users and the public (i.e., content of your posts and comments related to our Services, along with date and time stamps). Should you delete your account, please note that your posts, comments and messages may still be viewable or available in relation to our Services.

  • Aggregate and De-Identified Data. We may also share with third parties, such as advertisers and partners, aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

6. Information You Choose to Share with Third Parties

Our Services may contain third-party links and search results, include third-party integrations, or be a co-branded or third-party-branded service that’s being provided jointly with or by another company. By accessing those links, using the third-party integration, or using a co-branded or third-party-branded service, you may be providing information (including personal information) directly to the third party, us or both. You acknowledge and agree that we are not responsible for how those third parties collect or use your information. As always, we encourage you to review the privacy policies of every third-party website or service that you visit or use, including those third parties you interact with through our Services.

7. Control over Your Information

Under California law, California residents are entitled to ask us for a notice describing what categories of personal customer information we have shared with third parties or corporate affiliates for direct marketing purposes in the past 12 months. If you are a California resident and would like a copy of this notice, please submit a written request to Oben, 130 W. Union Street, Pasadena, CA 91103. In your request, please specify that you want a “California Privacy Notice.” We are not responsible for notices that are not labeled or are sent improperly. Please allow up to thirty days for this notice to be provided.
In addition to the above, we permit all users to request an Opt out from receiving marketing emails, texts, or other marketing communications from us on a going-forward basis please submit a written request to the address below. In your request, please specify that “Marketing Opt Out.” We will try to comply with your opt-out request as soon as reasonably practicable. Please note that if you opt out as described above, this will apply to marketing messages from us only. We will not be able to remove your personally identifiable information from the database of any third parties to whom you have previously authorized us to share such information. Please also note that we may still send you important administrative messages, and you cannot opt-out from receiving administrative messages. Please note: (1) there might be some latency in deleting this information from our servers and back-up storage; and (2) we may retain this information if necessary to comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforcement of our agreements.

Access and Updates. There are limits to personal information update requests we’ll accommodate. We may reject a request for a number of reasons, including, for example, that the request risks the privacy of other users, requires technical efforts that are disproportionate to the request, is repetitive, or is unlawful. If you need to access, update, or delete any personal information that we may have, you can make a request by emailing us. Because your privacy is important to use, we may ask you to verify your identity or provide additional information before we let you access or update your personal information. We will try to update and access your information for free, but if it would require a disproportionate effort on our part, we may charge a fee. We will disclose the fee before we comply with your request.

Cookies. Most web browsers are set to accept cookies by default. If you prefer, you can usually remove or reject browser cookies through the settings on your browser or device. Please note that removing or rejecting cookies could affect the availability and functionality of our Services.

We may change this Privacy Policy from time to time and the date listed at the top of this policy shall indicate the date of the most recent revision. We may also provide you with additional notice, such as adding a statement to our homepage or notifying you by email or through use of Services.
